In 1997, he participated in a crew that went to the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. As a proud Eagle Scout, Johnny served as the Scoutmaster of Troop 577 for the first few years of its existence. He was always willing to help someone in need and charge a fair price, and he served as a great example and role model of what a good lawyer should be. From 1974 to 1986, Johnny served as the County Attorney of Washington County. Most recently, Johnny worked in The Lacina Law Firm that he started with his son, Jonas. Johnny found a new law partner in Catherine Kenjura and the two practiced together as Lacina & Kenjura for 19 years. Hodde, Jr., and together, they practiced as Hodde & Lacina until Mr. Upon returning to Texas, he entered into the legal profession with his uncle, A.W. He received his exam results over a pay phone from his mother during his travels. After taking the bar exam, Johnny took a train to Chicago and hitchhiked from there through Quebec and the northeast. They had two children, Rachael and Jonas. On May 3, 1970, Johnny met the love of his life, Carey Ferris on a blind date and the two were married on April 28, 1973. In 1972, he graduated from Baylor with his Juris Doctor. Johnny studied at Blinn College and later transferred to Baylor University where he finished his Bachelor’s degree while attending Baylor Law School. Mary’s Parochial School and then Brenham High School where he graduated in 1967. He was born to Louis John “L.J.” Lacina and Norma Hodde Lacina in Brenham, Texas on November 14, 1949. Grandchildren, Krystal and Craig Glaeser, Bradely and Brooke Mueller and Amanda and Garrison Roberts. Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Kathy Ann Lehmann and husband, Mark of Brenham, Debra Sue Mueller and husband, Kim of Latium. She served on the Christian Service Committee and alter guild for many years at her church. She enjoyed having a garden, sewing and making quilts. She worked as a secretary for Blue Bell Creameries for the first few years of their marriage, but later decided she wanted to be a homemaker and take care of family. She was baptized on April 12, 1936, confirmed Jand on Octoshe married Fred Louis Heckmann. Marjorie was born Mato Adolph and Ella Berger Buerger in the Sandy Hill Community of Brenham, Washington Co., Texas. Marjorie Heckmann, age 87, passed away June 27, 2023.
